Why we built ENT Calculator

Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) are a cornerstone of modern ENT practice, offering vital insight into how patients perceive their condition and the effectiveness of treatment. For Mr Bhav Patel, Consultant ENT Surgeon and creator of ENTCalculator.com, PROMs play a central role in surgical audit, clinical decision-making, and long-term outcome tracking.

However, despite their value, many PROMs can be difficult to remember, access, and calculate during busy clinics. The process of distributing, scoring, and interpreting questionnaires can become time-consuming—taking focus away from meaningful patient care.

ENTCalculator.com was created to solve this challenge. Designed as a freely accessible tool for ENT professionals, the platform offers real-time scoring and interpretation of commonly used PROMs, such as SNOT-22, NIPF, and others. It enables clinicians to integrate PROMs into daily workflow without administrative burden, improving both efficiency and patient engagement.

Mr Patel’s aim is to support evidence-based, patient-centred care by making PROMs easier to use in real clinical settings.
